What is the Tsukiji Gourmet Club?

The Tsukiji Gourmet Club is a special culinary gathering based in Tsukiji, Tokyo, dedicated to sharing the exquisite *”Wa no Shoku” culture — the traditional Japanese food culture — with food lovers and gourmets both domestic and abroad. The club focuses mainly on fresh ingredients from Tsukiji, offering participatory gourmet events for adults that are delicious, fun, and educational (this is not a cooking class).

Significance of the Tsukiji Gourmet Club

1. Enhancing Tsukiji’s Value: Contributing to the development of Tsukiji as a hub for food professionals.
2. Stimulating the Senses: Offering enjoyable experiences that educate and invigorate.
3. Understanding Social Issues: Promoting awareness of environmental and social concerns through food and cooking.
4. International Exchange: Through sessions with chefs from around the world, promoting mutual understanding alongside respect for the *”Wa no Shoku” culture and other food cultures.

What is the “Wa no Shoku” Culture?

Sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine, as well as Japanese-style French, Italian, Chinese, ramen, and Western dishes creatively developed by Japanese chefs, are all included under the concept of *”Wa no Shoku” culture. Recently, not only Japanese ingredients and seasonings but also cooking techniques, dishes, and utensils have been attracting attention worldwide.
